La Bayadere | Segerstrom Center for the Arts

The famed Mariinsky Ballet and Orchestra present Marius Petipa’s great Russian classic, La Bayadere, in tour de forceperformances by the Mariinsky’s legendary ballet stars as the tale unfolds with doomed temple dancer, Nikiya, the warrior who betrays her, Solor and her archrival, Gamzatti. Celebrated Mariinsky Theatre Artistic Director Valery Gergiev conducts the orchestra and Mariinsky Ballet Acting Director Yuri Fateev presides over the ballet. SCFTA.org

Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Pacific Symphony | Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall

Maestro Carl St.Clair and the Pacific Symphony present Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, Pathétique and Ravel’s gypsy rhapsody Tzigane with solo violinist and symphony concertmaster Dennis Kim. The symphony will also embark on an exploration of the brilliant compositions from legendary film composer John Williams, who is responsible for linking St.Clair to the Pacific Symphony. 8 p.m. PacificSymphony.org

Australia’s Gravity & Other Myths award-winning and well-respected acrobatics ensemble returns to The Barclay after its smashing debut last year.
